The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced a national plan to establish and operate the Stop TB Movement Headquarters. This marked the beginning of a coordinated, multi-stakeholder for TB elimination in Korea.
보건복지부와 질병관리본부가 STOP-TB 운동본부 설치·운영계획을 발표했습니다. 이는 국내 결핵퇴치를 위해 다양한 이해관계자가 함께 참여하는 협력 플랫폼의 출발점이 되었습니다.
Stop TB Partnership Korea was officially launched, and the Secretariat began operations. Nineteen partners—including members of the National Assembly, health-related organizations, and private-sector entities—joined to advance a shared TB elimination agenda. Representative Sook-mi Sohn was appointed as the first Chair of the TB Elimination Cooperation Committee.
Stop TB Partnership Korea가 공식 발족하고 사무국 운영을 개시했습니다. 국회, 관련 보건단체, 기업 등 19개 파트너가 참여해 결핵퇴치 공동 의제를 추진했으며, 손숙미 국회의원이 제1대 결핵퇴치협력위원장으로 취임했습니다.
The partnership launched its first international TB elimination project in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2015–2019). Through this initiative, Stop TB Partnership Korea expanded from domestic coordination to field-based cooperation and implementation support in high-burden settings, strengthening regional solidarity for TB elimination.
제1차 Stop TB Partnership Korea 국제 결핵퇴치 프로젝트를 몽골 울란바토르에서 착수했습니다(2015~2019). 이를 계기로 국내 협력체계 구축을 넘어 고부담 국가 현장에서의 실행 중심 협력과 지원을 확대하며, 지역 연대를 강화했습니다.
Stop TB Partnership Korea initiated a double-reading program for chest X-rays to support the early identification of suspected TB cases among migrant workers entering Korea. In the same year, the partnership convened an international forum on political action for global TB elimination and supported the launch of the Korea TB Caucus, strengthening policy engagement and multi-sector collaboration. It also hosted the first International Scientific Conference on 'Seeking Ways to Eliminate TB in Asia' in Mongolia, establishing a platform for sustained regional dialogue.
국내 입국 외국인 근로자의 결핵 의심 사례 조기 확인을 위해 결핵 이중판독사업을 개시했습니다. 같은 해 세계 결핵퇴치를 위한 정치행동 국제포럼을 개최하고 한국결핵퇴치의원연맹 발족을 지원해 정책 기반 협력을 강화했습니다. 또한 몽골에서 제1회 '아시아 결핵퇴치 협력포럼'을 개최하며 지속적인 아시아 지역 협력 플랫폼을 마련했습니다.
To accelerate progress toward Korea's TB control targets and strengthen coordination across partners, the partnership organized a policy forum on the role of TB partnerships in domestic and international cooperation. It also established and operated a TB Elimination Task Force to develop actionable approaches for hard-to-reach populations and remaining gaps in TB prevention and care, while contributing to related legislative and policy discussions.
우리나라 결핵관리 목표 달성과 국내외 협력 강화를 위해 결핵퇴치 파트너십의 역할을 주제로 정책토론회를 개최했습니다. 또한 결핵관리 사각지대 해소와 실행 가능한 대응방안 마련을 위해 결핵퇴치 TF를 구성·운영하며, 관련 법·정책 논의에도 참여했습니다.
Stop TB Partnership Korea hosted the 7th International Scientific Conference on 'Seeking Ways to Eliminate TB in Asia' in Seoul. The event brought together regional stakeholders to share evidence, policy experiences, and cooperation strategies, demonstrating the forum's growth into a key platform for advancing TB elimination collaboration in Asia.
