지난 8월30일, 김민석 국회 보건복지위원장과 대한결핵협회 STOP-TB운동본부의 주관하에 국회 보건복지위원회 소회의실에서 국내외 결핵목표 달성 방안 마련을 위한 결핵퇴치 TF팀의 제1차 온라인 전체회의가 개최되었습니다. 본 회의에서는 결핵퇴치 Task Force 위원들에 대한 위촉식과 국제결핵연구소 송선대 이사장의 국내외 결핵목표달성 가속화를 위한 결핵퇴치 TF팀의 역할과 방향에 대한 특별발표와 변정화 김민석 국회의원 보좌관의 향후 결핵퇴치 TF운영 방안에 대한 소개가 이루어졌습니다. 앞으로 공공/민간을 포괄하는 결핵 유관기관과 단체 그리고 전문가들로 구성된 결핵퇴치 TF팀의 국내외 결핵퇴치를 위한 정책과 ODA 전략 수립 등 많은 활동을 기대해봅니다.

우리네 명절 가운데 가장 큰 명절인 한가위가 낼 모레이나, 코로나로 인해 명절 기분이 나지 않고 있습니다. “더도 말고 덜도 말고 한가위만 같아라”라는 옛말이 있듯이, 한가위를 맞이해 마음을 넉넉하게 가지시면 좋을 것 같습니다. 마음은 좁으면 바늘 하나 꽂을 자리도 없고, 넓히면 온 우주를 품어도 남는다고 하니 이번 한가위에는 세상을 품으시고, 일상에서도 코로나 블루에서 벗어나 마음과 행복이 넉넉한 나날 되시기 바랍니다. 하기완 두손모음

On 24 September 2021, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN) and the World Health Organization will co-host a special UN General Assembly virtual side event to review progress towards reaching global TB targets, advance multisectoral action and accountability, and discuss preparations for the 2023 UN High-Level Meeting on TB. On 12 August 2021, TB Alliance hosted a public webinar for community stakeholders to share details of the recently announced results from the ZeNix Phase 3 clinical trial. The trial revealed that the 6-month BPaL treatment regimen (bedaquiline, pretomanid and linezolid) remains effective against highly drug-resistant strains of TB with either reduced dosage or duration of the linezolid component of the regimen. The vaccine maker BioNTech says it’s investigating sites in Rwanda and Senegal for potential production of TB and malaria vaccines. The sites would be near prospective vaccine hubs planned by WHO. The future vaccines would be based on the mRNA technology used in BioNTech’s Covid-19. The company says it’s started preclinical development for “multiple product candidates” against TB.

아주대학교 심리학과 김경일 교수

지난 9월 1일, STOP-TB 운동본부와 얀센은 아주대학교 심리학과 김경일 교수를 초빙하여 결핵관리전담간호사를 대상으로 ‘접근과 회피 동기의 소통과 지혜“라는 주제로 온라인 강좌를 진행하였습니다. 현장에서 결핵환자들과 가장 가까이에서 소통하고 결핵관리를 담당하고 있는 결핵관리전담간호사분들의 많은 애로사항을 중심으로 내용을 구성하여 결핵관리전담간호사분들에게 조금이나마 힐링과 환자와 소통하는데 도움이 될 수 있었던 시간이 되었길 바라며, 앞으로도 STOP-TB 파트너십 한국 사무국은 결핵관리전담간호사분들의 든든한 파트너로서 역할을 해 나갈 것입니다.

지난 9월 5일 일요일, 대한결핵협회는 구로구보건소와 한국외국인력지원센터와 함께 미등록체류자를 포함한 지역사회 외국인 500여명을 대상으로 결핵검진 및 코로나19 백신접종, 그리고 결핵에 대한 인식 향상과 올바른 정보 제공을 위해 QR코드를 활용한 첫 온라인 다국어 결핵예방교육 및 설문조사를 실시하였습니다. 앞으로도 지역사회에 흩어져 있는 외국인들에게 온/오프라인 의료서비스 접근성을 높여 지역사회의 감염 예방에 더욱 힘써 나갈 것입니다.
