The World Health Organization released a report revealing that vaccines against 24 pathogens could reduce the number of antibiotics needed by 22% or 2.5 billion defined daily doses globally every year, supporting worldwide efforts to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

New, safe, and effective TB treatment options were recently approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). These treatments were studied in the Partners In Health (PIH)-led endTB clinical trial. The new treatments will benefit people with some of the most difficult to treat forms of TB.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Stop TB Partnership released a new report, Governance of TB Programmes: Third Assessment of Practices in 21 countries. This is a first of its kind assessment of the governance of TB responses on four themes of transparency, inclusiveness, legal framework, and process efficiency and effectiveness of national TB responses, enabling countries to understand their status on each of the 20 governance benchmarks, prioritize activities and track their progress.
